TDS Inc., a Fortune 1000 national technology and communications company, has a great opportunity for an IT Security GRC Intern.  This position can work remotely in any of the states in which TDS Inc. operates.  And, depending on location, we are also open to an in-office or hybrid work model.

 

Duration and Work Schedule

 

This internship is full-time (40 hrs/week) from May through August 2023; start and end dates are flexible. There may be an opportunity to stay on part-time during the 2023-2024 academic year depending on course schedule and business needs.

Responsibilities

The IT Security GRC Intern will partner with and support the IT Security Governance, Risk, and Compliance Team on responsibilities such as documenting application security policies and standards, supporting security awareness and compliance training program, managing 3rd party management activities, maintaining security risk register, and auditing adherence to security policy and design of security roles.  This internship will offer a great opportunity to gain an understanding of the dynamic and exciting field of IT Security.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing an Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in information systems, computer science, programming, business or related field
  • Two or more semesters of related technology coursework

  • Strong technical aptitude, initiative, creativity, and excellent customer service skills
  • Strong analytical problem-solving skills and critical thinking
  • Strong documentation and writing skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including strong verbal and written communication
  • Ability to plan and organize multiple tasks
  • Solid work ethic and demonstrated ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability to work both independently and on team assignments
  • Self-motivated with the ability to drive personal development and process improvements
