Duration and Work Schedule

This internship, located at both our TDS Corporate headquarters in Middleton, WI and the TDS Telecom office in Madison, WI. It is full-time (40 hrs/week) from May through August 2023; and exact start and end dates are flexible. There may be an opportunity to stay on part-time during the 2023-2024 academic year depending on course schedule and business needs. 

Responsibilities

As an IT Intern – Deployment Specialist you will be mentored by subject matter experts on responsibilities such as installations, set-ups and moves of information systems equipment, as well as troubleshooting and diagnostics.  You may also participate in other team initiatives, such as projects as needed.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing BS, BA, or AA degree in information systems, computer science, networking or related field
  • Two or more semesters of related technology coursework

 Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong technical aptitude, initiative, creativity, and excellent customer service skills
  • Strong analytical problem solving skills and critical thinking
  • General understanding of infrastructure design, development and deployment.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including strong verbal and written communication
  • Computer hardware experience, a plus (Assembly/Disassembly, Component Installation, Service/Repair, and Testing)
  • General knowledge of remote computing, TCP/IP, DNS, Active Directory, WINS and LAN/WAN technologies, a plus
  • Knowledge of and/or experience with PowerShell scripting
  • Solid work ethic and demonstrated ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability to work both independently and on team assignments
